Cats, Brownies and Runaways!

Hello, first of all i just want to say that this is my first food post and i'm so excited because i believe i did an excellent work. Well at least i did on the flavours and the quality of my lovely brownies because i think that the pictures aren't good enough but "Artist Javi" did his best and that matters. I think he should take some research about food Photography because this is not going to be another of my failed projects. This is going to be one to last.

You Would Probably are wondering in this moment why this post it's called "Cats, Brownies and Runaways!" Because this past week i been working hard on an Audit but also i been working as a babysitter. Well let's called it a Cat-sitter. My lovely boss took some marvelous vacations from all the hard work she does every single day and decided, Mmmm Decides is not the propper Word here, she just dump her cats at the office. At the beggining i thought, "Awwww they're so cute" But then a couple of cat food bowls and hours later i thought "WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT SMELL". The office smelled (And i think still do) to cat poop. I never smell a hideous thing on my whole life, also to do the things more interesting they poop all over the parquet floor and when Rux, My co-worker started to clean up well i must say that it got so worst. Lau, an intern who is working with us all afternoons had an excellent idea wich is that keeping th cats on the bathrooms, if they poop (And they did) it going to be easier to clean up the bathroom tiles instead of the parquet floor.

The idea was amazing and we did it every single day then something came up, besides to be an Accountant and a Cat-Sitter i became a poop picker You must be kidding right? All Week long Rux and i cleaned that bathroom because if we not, well the smell wasn't pretty. Everything was nice until the friday Afternoon when "Claudine" the Big cat climb up on the bathroom window and just ran away over the backyard, that was more Stressfull than fix a complete year of taxes. Rux was shaking all nervous thinking about what is going to happen when our boss arrives to the office and finds out that her cat just gone missing. Well, Rux and i went into the backyard trying to find that damn cat and wasn't easy, AT ALL. We find out that the backyard was closed and we couldn't reach to the cat so we wait on the HOT street until the owner of that place appears and open the space where rux finds our Evil cat stuck on the bars from a window. I was Sweating all over my formal Shirt and my feets were killing me because i wear formal shoes to go to work. Was a happy ending for us, for our jobs not our noses.

Well now is brownie Time Isn't? Today i was really happy because was the birthday of one to my oldest friends so i really want it to make some of his favorite brownies, I was quite torn between making something more Elaborated or just go simple. I decide to mix a little of both making 2 different types of brownies. I made Dark Chocolate & Lemon Brownies and Salt & Pepper Brownies. The recipe is an old recipe from my grandmother that i just fix up a little adding some extra ingredients.

Here's what you need:

  • 1 and 1/4 cups of flour
  • 1 and 1/3 cups of sugar
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 3 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 egg
  • 200 g unsweetened chocolate
  • 1/4 cup of cocoa powder
Preparation

Preheat the oven to 350 ° F / 175 ° C. Prepare baking pans. You can use wax paper in the bottom of the baking pans.

In a blender, place all ingredients together and stir for half a minute at low speed. Add more speed and stir for another three minutes.

Pour the mixture into the molds and bake for 20 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

That's the basic Recipe for the brownies.
Now for the Dark Chocolate & Lemon Brownies the only thing you have to do is add the juice of a whole lemon on the mix and melt 200 g of dark chocolate, add the lemon zest of a lemon and mix. Then pour on top of the cold brownies.

For the Salt & Pepper Brownies, Just add a tablespoon of ground black pepper and a tablespoon of Sea salt to the brownies mix and bake just as usual. Add some grains of salt on top of the brownies once served.

I just Hope that Andy liked both versions of the regular brownies, He just need a bit of sweet on his life after everything he pass trough. I also made my own boxes, i think it will be a nice touch, a classy one.
